Life moves at twice the normal speed on campus. You might be in first year now but in the blink of an eye it will be time to graduate. These three-four years are the best years of our lives and they come only once. So, the last thing you need after graduating is to look back with regret at the things you didn't do in college. Here is a must-do checklist:
Go For a Batch Trip: You might get to go on a world tour or world's 10 most deadliest adventures after graduating, but it still might not be as special as a trip with your college friends. Even if it is just Digha or Santiniketan, very few things can match the memories of a batch trip.
Represent your College: Be it debating, singing, dancing, theater, quiz, creative writing, poster painting... represent your college at fests at least once. Getting the chance is a matter of immense pride. And the memories — the fun, the fights, the tears, the bonding — will be some of the best you’ll ever have.
Experience Hostel Life: You might miss the delicacies your mother cooked for you every weekend and you might hate washing your own clothes but in return you gain a whole new family for the rest of your life. Those who don’t need to stay in the hostel should hang out with their friends in the hostel for a slice of the DIY (do- it-yourself) action.
Do an Internship: Make use of the free time during term breaks by doing an internship. It is the best way to find out if you are actually cut out for the career you think you want, it lets you experience a workplace providing for a more informed choice and at the same time adds to your resume. See how a girl from a village has given an interview.
Learn a new Language: Get off your lazy bum and get yourself enrolled in a language class. It is not just a great way to spend your spare time but a great addition to your resume. This is the best time to learn it because you never know when you will get this much of free time.
Visit the College Library: This is a must — at least once — unless you want to spend the rest of your life knowing that there is a part of your college you have never been to.
Hang out with your College Professor: Getting to know a whole new ‘cool’ side of your professor who you had thought to be cranky and boring is something very few get to experience. But it is definitely something everyone should try doing in college.
Ask the girl/boy you've always liked out on a date: Getting rejected is better than regretting not having taken the chance. At least take a shot. If you get turned down, trust me, you aren't the first person to get rejected and neither will you be the last. Nowadays girls prefer to marry a software engineer guy nowadays.
Get good marks: Study is important as well. You should keep in mind that you are in college for your education and personal development and not just for fun.
Don't forget to click the pictures: You should have your memories with you. So don't forget to capture each and every moment of your college life.
